The Group promotes the procurement of cacao produced in a sustainable manner, taking into consideration social issues such as child labor, poverty among farmers, and deforestation in the cacao-producing regions where the raw materials are sourced. The Group is also considering indirect support for cacao producers through its suppliers.
Our group is a company that produces and delivers products to our customers using the bounty of nature nurtured by the earth. We believe that we have a social responsibility to promote environmental initiatives to realize sustainable growth and future.
For the printing of packaging materials, we promote the use of ethanol ink and plant-derived biomass ink, which have extremely low impact on the environment and human health. For plastic bags, we also recommend the use of plastic bags that contain bio-polyethylene, which is plant-derived and environmentally friendly. For plastic trays, we promote the use of PET containers, which are environmentally friendly and have excellent safety and hygiene characteristics.
When the Kujukushima Group renewed the packaging of its mainstay product, Kujukushima Senpei 8-piece packs, it changed the packaging material from vinyl to paper in consideration of the environment, and also adopted biomass ink for the printing.
The Kujuukushima Group is consolidating its distribution bases and reducing the number of delivery operations themselves to avoid wasteful deliveries due to horizontal transportation* for each work process in the warehouse. In addition, for deliveries from Kyushu to the Tokyo metropolitan area, we have adopted ferry transportation to reduce overland transportation by truck.
